1. Consult
A consultation is required before booking thread lifts with Dr Tara, as she will need to assess your suitability for the treatment
2. Preparation
After your consultation Dr Tara you will be able to book in for the treatment you decided together. Tara will advice how to prepare properly for treatment during your consultation.
3. Treatment
The facial threads are then injected into the skin using a fine cannula. The treatment itself will last from 30-60 minutes.
4. After-Care
Immediate results can be seen with this treatment but the maximum effect will become apparent a few weeks following this. You are likely to experience some bruising and swelling which can last up to 2 weeks. Full aftercare will be discussed at the appointment.

The main component of Silhouette Soft is Poly L-lactic acid (or PLLA), which has been used for many years in various pharmaceutical and medical applications. It naturally breaks down and dissolves in the body
The insertion of the Silhouette Soft threads combines two effects:
- an immediate repositioning of the tissue and
- a gradual regeneration of collagen.
The repositioning effect is immediate and discreet. It is the result of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the suture. After inserting the suture, Tara applies slight pressure on the treated area. In this way, Tara reshapes the contours of the face and makes it visibly smoother.
The small cones on the Silhouette Soft suture provide traction and fixation points, a natural foreign body reaction then reinforces this, by the build up of new collagen formation. This action is what helps restore the shapeliness to the face and neck.
Thread lifts are a non-invasive treatment and require no major preparation – Dr Tara will discuss your pre and post treatment care regime with you at your consultation.
Local anaesthetic will be applied to the treated area, so you will be comfortable throughout your face thread lift. D Tara will then use a cannula or a micro-needle to insert the threads into your skin. You will be able to return to your usual activities within a couple of days.
Around 45-60 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.
You will notice an immediate improvement right after your treatment. Optimal results will begin show over 2-6 months as collagen production is stimulated.
This depends on a variety of factors and can be different for each person, it can last up to 3 years.
Threads are fairly non-invasive so downtime is not usually required – you may have some tenderness, bruising and swelling that can last a few weeks after the treatment
